The Detailed Convention Schedule is three separate spreadsheets

  • The “All Sites” Spreadsheet in the Detailed Convention Schedule is difficult to read and has been converted into a text document. Please scan the SCTA QR code for the text version. It is sized for a mobile device.

  • The HS One Act Schedule shows times for: Load In, Tech Time, Approximate Start Time, and Load Out. It also has a brief summary and content warnings for each production.

  • “Workshops.Masterclass” tab has full descriptions of the sessions as well as the Presenter’s bio. Make sure to take the opportunity to meet with professional theatre artists and technicians to inspire your journey and Amplify YOUR Voice.

As part of the Annual Convention, SCTA hosts the High School Theatre Festival- giving the participants the opportunity to network with programs across the state and to be critiqued by professional theatre practitioners in their performance and technical work. Use this page to find all the information on how to register for the convention and the HS Theatre Festival.

The Individual Registration form- to register students and chaperones for the Convention and HS Theatre Festival. Closed now

Deadline for Delegate Registration is OCTOBER 4th.

Deadline for Play Tech Form is OCTOBER 8th. (Extension for those affected by Helene)

ONLY those Juniors and Seniors who are REGISTERED DELEGATES for the Unified Auditions may participate in the Auditions. Students should check with their teachers to make sure they were registered for the Auditions (additional fees paid) before beginning the application. Deadline is October 8 to submit the application.

Note: NO additional students may be added to the College Auditions after October 11 or on-site. There is a fee for the event and procedures that must be followed in order to participate. Students may ask individual schools for a one-on-one audition and space will be made available to the college representatives if they choose to hold individual auditions.

Teachers can access the form to do the Teacher Recommendations for the Juniors and Seniors who have been registered to participate in the Unified College Auditions. All recommendations can be done in one form. Deadline is Friday, October 11 to submit the recommendations.

If you would like to order meal tickets and/or Convention T-shirts separately, use this form. Suggested that you place the order after the One Act schedule is posted (October 11) to determine which meal tickets your group will actually use/need. Deadline to submit is Thursday, October 17.

Reminder: SCTA does not have any restrictions to what show a school may bring. Schools may choose to bring a production that was performed the year before and there can be duplications of a production in any given year. Schools must secure rights to perform a script or a cutting of the script and the production time is 45 minutes for set up, performance, and strike.

The FEES for the Individual Delegate Registration are as follows:

  • Sponsor Registration- free, Chaperone or Teacher registration- $25

  • Student Delegate- $50, Additional Individual Event fees: $10 for one event, $20 for two events, $25 for three or four events

  • Meal Tickets will be $10 per ticket

  • Pre-ordered Convention T-shirts $15 "Amplified Voices Inspire Change" with a list of all participating schools on the back

  • T-shirts purchased on-site $20, includes five different designs


This document has been updated to show available rooms at different hotels. Most group blocks will be released on October 7 with a few with earlier release dates.


New to SCTA and the High School Theatre Festival? High School Division Chair, Erin Gill has created a List of Mentor Teachers. Open the document to find individuals in your region who can answer questions and walk you through the process to be part of SC Theatre and the High School Theatre Festival.

There are 27 slots available for schools to register for the One-Act Festival. The top two scoring productions will represent South Carolina at the Southeastern Theatre Conference held in Baltimore, Maryland, March 19-23, 2025.

Schools can attend without performing a one-act. Students may compete in Individual Competitions: Monologues, Solo Musicals, and Team Tech Olympics. Juniors and Seniors may also audition or present portfolios in the Unified College Auditions.

MEET YOUR DIVISION LEADERSHIP

Erin Gill (High School Division Chair) grew up in Lexington, South Carolina, and attended Winthrop University, where she received her BA in Theatre and performed in and directed many productions. After graduating, Erin spent her first 2 years of teaching at Ashley Ridge High School in Summerville, South Carolina, where she acted as the inaugural theatre teacher. She also performed with the Footlight Players (Ensemble, Oklahoma!). After moving to the upstate, Erin worked as the theatre teacher at Woodmont Middle School from 2013-2018, where she was named teacher of the year for the 2015-2016 school year. In 2018, Erin accepted her current position as a theatre director at Woodmont High School, where she has directed, designed, and produced many pieces, including Annie, Radium Girls, and I Bring You Flowers, which was named first alternate to represent South Carolina at the International Thespian Festival in 2020. Erin has been seen on stage around the upstate, including at Market Theatre (Miss Flemming, Heathers: The Musical) and Mill Town Players (Gloria, Bye Bye Birdie). Erin serves as a Lead Theatre Teacher for Greenville County Schools and Vice-Chair for the High School Division of the South Carolina Theatre Association. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre Education from Mississippi University for Women. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, sewing, and being creative. Erin has two beautiful boys and an amazing husband whose support makes her dreams possible.

Jonathon Long (High School Division Co-Chair) was raised in Rock Hill,
South Carolina, and attended Winthrop University. He received his BA in Theatre with a K-12 certification in education.  After moving to the upstate, Jonathon taught for 3 years at Woodmont High School in Piedmont, SC, before moving to his current position at Palmetto High School. He has directed, and designed for a number of productions in his time at Palmetto, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Mamma Mia, and Matt & Ben which was chosen as Chapter Select and represented South Carolina at the International Thespian Festival in 2019. Jonathonz has been seen on stage with the Market Theatre in Heathers: The Musical and Bonnie & Clyde. When not working Jonathon is often found spending time with his wife, Dorie, and son, Grayson, who keep him going every day.
